Pelor

Pelor, known widely as the Dawnfather, is one of the revered Prime Deities of the pantheon. He represents the warmth of the sun, the bounty of agriculture, and the vibrant abundance of summer. Unlike the Betrayer Gods, Pelor is worshipped openly throughout the land, as his influence is regarded as beneficial, righteous, and essential to mortal life.

Mythology and the Calamity

As one of the Prime Deities, Pelor stood against the destructive Betrayer Gods during the catastrophic war known as The Calamity. This epoch-ending conflict pitted the gods and their creations against one another in a devastating magical arms race. While the Betrayer Gods sought to destroy or enslave the mortal races, Pelor and his fellow Prime Deities fought to protect their creations, firmly believing in the potential of mortals to find their own way.

Following the destruction of the great cities of the Age of Arcanum, Pelor and the other Prime Deities made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the world from future divine conflicts. They established the Divine Gate, a barrier that sealed them away from the Material Plane. This act of separation prevented the gods from physically walking the earth, meaning Pelor’s light and divine power can now only be channeled through his most devoted and faithful worshippers.

Iconography and Esotericism
