Captain Beauregard

Captain Beauregard is a military commander in the city of Neverwinter, active during a highly volatile period of wartime preparations and escalating conflict with Luskan.

The Sewer Diversion

Captain Beauregard’s most notable involvement occurred during a critical security incident in the sewers of Neverwinter. The adventuring party, having discovered significant Luskan infiltration within the city’s subterranean waterways—including the death of city comptroller Patricius and a captured water elemental—found themselves trapped with all cistern exits heavily guarded.

To facilitate an escape, the paladin Gilmore created a massive public diversion by calling his horse and shouting that Luskanite forces had breached the city walls. This alarming threat immediately mobilized Neverwinter’s elite defensive units, including the prestigious Griffin Knights and Captain Beauregard himself. Amidst the urgent military response, Gilmore fabricated a story about being a noble who had run into Luskanites in the sewers, successfully earning a referral note to Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande while the rest of the party slipped away unnoticed.

Role in Neverwinter’s Defense

As an officer capable of being rapidly mobilized alongside the Griffin Knights—Neverwinter’s elite special forces—Captain Beauregard is a key figure in the city’s active defense network. His prompt deployment under the threat of a Luskan invasion underscores the high-alert status of Neverwinter’s officer corps as Lord Nasher Alagondar marshals his military forces to the north for the brewing war.
