History and Tactical Usage

The Climax at Dragon Barrow

The Cloak of Displacement proved critical during the battle deep beneath the Dragon Barrow. The party entered a cavern of bone-white stalagmites and acid pools—unwittingly stepping directly inside the colossal skeletal remains of the ancient green dragon Villathas, the Jade Queen. When the paladin Gilmore drew the Dragon Slayer sword of Lady Tanager Alagondar from its resting place, a powerful paralyzing trap was instantly triggered.

While some party members were frozen by the trap’s energy, the wearer of the Cloak of Displacement successfully resisted the paralysis effect. Utilizing the cloak’s magical capabilities, they immediately turned invisible to slip away from Sidorna (the Green Wyrmspeaker) and her fanatical cult forces. This allowed the user to maneuver undetected amidst the rising toxic gas, hostile dragon cultists, and a deadly monk, buying the party crucial moments to disrupt the resurrection ritual of the green dragon.
