Aadabra

Aadabra Gwynn (also referred to as Aadbra, Adabra, or Aldabra) is a highly respected resident of the frontier town of Phandalin, serving her community in several vital roles. She is a devout follower of the Wildmother (Melora) and is affiliated with the Emerald Enclave as one of their clerics.

Biography and Roles

Within the small settlement of Phandalin, Aadabra is known as both the town’s miller and its midwife. Her dual responsibilities make her an essential figure to the local populace, as she is responsible for both the daily food supply and the safe delivery of the town’s next generation. In addition to these duties, she is a purveyor of essential gear and healing potions. Physically, she is described as a short, stout woman with strong arms, a chubby wrinkled face, and a kind smile.

Historically, Aadabra serves as a cleric for the Emerald Enclave. During the devastating outbreak of the Wailing Death plague in Neverwinter, the Enclave lost touch with both Aadabra and the druid Reidoth. This prolonged silence eventually prompted the Enclave ranger Nimiriel Nightbreeze to suggest that the fey adventurer Nalini travel south to investigate their well-being.

Disappearance and Return

Around the time a group of adventurers arrived in Phandalin after escaping the Cragmaw Hideout, Aadabra had mysteriously gone missing. According to the retired, blind adventurer Deacon, she had not been seen for a number of weeks. This disappearance became a point of concern for the party, particularly the fairy Nalini, who advocated strongly for launching a search to seek out both Aadabra and the missing druid Reidoth.

Fortunately, Aadabra returned safely to Phandalin. Following the party’s trek to the Snowmont Monastery, they encountered her in the Townmaster’s office participating in an emergency town council meeting alongside Townmaster Harbin Wester, Deacon, and Sildar Hallwinter. She actively participated in the debate regarding the various threats besetting the area, including the sudden return of the white dragon Cryovain the Everfrost.

During her return, she also spoke to the adventurers (now known as The Magnificent Five) about the druid Reidoth, warning them that he was apparently harassing the logging camps along the Neverwinter River. Before departing on their next errand, party members Farwald and Gilmore purchased healing potions and gear from both Aadabra and Linene Graywind of the Lionshield Coster.

Highharvesttide Celebrations

Following the defeat of the Spider in Wave Echo Cave and the recovery of the legendary Forge of Spells, Phandalin celebrated the festival of Highharvesttide, the last day of summer. Amidst the feasting, paper lanterns, and joy in the main square, Aadabra was seen waving warmly to the dwarf Gundren Rockseeker, who had successfully returned to safety after being rescued from Cragmaw Castle.
