The Arcanist District is a prominent municipal sector within Neverwinter, the “Jewel of the North”. It serves as a major hub of magical learning, trade, regulation, and spellcraft within the city. Most famous for housing the iconic Cloaktower, the district is a place where wizards congregate and is widely known as a premier hotspot for arcane shops and alchemical supplies.

However, the district is also governed by strict laws regarding unauthorized spellcasting, making the public use of illegal or forbidden magic a direct path to the city’s penal system.

Jurisdictional Connections

The enforcement of magical laws within the Arcanist District connects directly to Neverwinter’s broader security apparatus:

• The Peninsula District: The district containing the high-security municipal facilities.
• Prisoner’s Isles: Neverwinter’s fortified island prison situated within the Peninsula District, where those arrested for utilizing forbidden magic are kept under high security. Talis is currently imprisoned here.
