Jaque

Jaque is a halfling monk of the Snowmont Monastery, a remote sanctuary nestled deep within the icy passes of the Sword Mountains.

The Fall of Snowmont Monastery

Jaque’s peaceful life of contemplation was shattered when Snowmont Monastery came under a sudden, devastating siege by a combined force of Ice Trolls and Ice Mephits. Though a survivor named Clarissa managed to escape down the mountain to seek aid in the nearby town of Phandalin, the monastery was largely destroyed during the conflict.

When the adventurers arrived to repel the attackers, they found that the toll had been heavy. Valiant defenders like Clarissa and Dorian did not survive the battle. Jaque and his companion, a human female monk named Zoe, were the sole survivors of the order.

Legacy and Gifts

Following the defeat of the Ice Trolls, Jaque and Zoe met with the adventurers amidst the smoldering, frozen ruins of their home. In gratitude for their salvation, the two surviving monks bestowed upon the party the remnants of the monastery’s sacred trove, consisting of:

Shortly after this exchange, the survivors and the adventurers witnessed the ominous shadow of the white dragon, Cryovain, soaring southwest toward the highest peaks of the Sword Mountains, signaling a cold and dangerous new era for the region.
