The Bag of Holding
The Bag of Holding is a powerful extra-dimensional magical artifact currently carried by the adventuring party known as the Magnificent Five (also celebrated as the Fantastic Five). Capable of holding vast quantities of wealth and equipment while remaining virtually weightless, this unassuming satchel has served as the party’s silent partner throughout their perilous exploits across the Sword Coast, safeguarding ancient treasures, stolen relics, and heavy spoils away from prying eyes.
Acquisition at Tristan Manor
The party first recovered the Bag of Holding during their daring infiltration of the ruined Tristan Manor in Phandalin. Hidden deep within the manor’s cellars lay the subterranean headquarters of the Redbrand ruffians. Upon breaching the alchemical laboratory of their leader, the treacherous wizard Iarno Albrek (known as Glasstaff), the party defeated him and ransacked his study. Among the magical curios, they retrieved the namesake Glasstaff, a cryptic note from Nezznar (the Spider), a historic tome titled The Rise and Fall of the Pact of Phandelver by Elminster Aumar, and the Bag of Holding.

The Golden Bell of Ioun: While exploring the ruins of Conyberry, the party visited an abandoned temple dedicated to Ioun, the Knowing Mistress. After receiving mystical visions from the altar, they secured permission to claim the temple’s massive golden bell. To transport this immense prize, Farwald Hillsfar and Nalini used their magical finesse to melt the bell down into smaller, manageable gold fragments, which they packed entirely into the Bag of Holding. They later utilized the wayward merchant Mikael to help fence the precious gold in Phandalin.

The Ring of Control Water Elementals: Deep in the sewers of Neverwinter, the party confronted a band of Luskan pirates who had captured the city’s Head of Sewers and Waterways, Patricius, and used a stolen magic ring to enslave a water elemental. Although Patricius died in the skirmish, the party successfully claimed the Ring of Control Water Elementals (an opal-blue band). Rather than returning this powerful artifact to Anthony “the Gentleman” Calloway as agreed, they chose to deceive him, safely concealing the ring within the depths of the Bag of Holding to mask its magical signature from city authorities.

The Spoils of the Morkoth: During a sea voyage northward aboard the vessel The Providence Queen, the party’s ship became moored against a strange, fog-enshrouded island. At the heart of a cavern on the island, they defeated a telepathic, spell-reflecting Morkoth. From the creature’s bizarre collection, they plundered a staggering fortune consisting of 5,000 platinum pieces, rare jewels, and 3,000 gold pieces’ worth of priceless artwork. To ensure their massive haul remained safe from the eyes of the crew and harbor authorities, they stowed the entire fortune securely within the Bag of Holding before repairing the ship and resuming their voyage.
