Bane

Bane is one of The Betrayer Gods, a faction of destructive deities who are not openly worshipped and are generally considered harmful to the balance of the world.

Mythological History

During the Age of Arcanum, a great schism erupted among the deities. While the Prime Deities sought to protect and guide their mortal creations, the Betrayer Gods—including Bane—sought to completely destroy or enslave humanity and the other mortal races, believing they could not be trusted with free will or arcane power. This conflict escalated into The Calamity, a devastating magical arms race that left the grand cities of the era in ruins.

To protect the world from the unchecked divinity of the Betrayers, the Prime Deities created the Divine Gate, a barrier that sealed all gods, including Bane, away from the Material Plane.
