History and the Great Dragon War

Approximately 300 years ago, Baldur’s Gate was still in its infancy alongside Neverwinter, Waterdeep, and Luskan. During this era, a coordinated onslaught of Chromatic Dragons devastated the Sword Coast, laying waste to the North. In response to this existential threat, Baldur’s Gate became a founding member of the Lord’s Alliance, a coalition of powers including Silverymoon, Waterdeep, and Neverwinter. Together with legendary heroes, the combined armies of the Alliance repelled the draconic threat, scattering the surviving beasts to the ends of the world.
