Evereska

Evereska (also spelled Everska) is an ancient, revered elven stronghold and sanctuary famed for its deep scholarly traditions, its preservation of historical lineages, and its connection to the high magical arts of the Sword Coast. Though secluded, its cultural and academic influence reaches far across the continent, from the great repositories of Candlekeep to the magical academies and towers of the North.

Preservation of Elven Lore and Lineage

Evereska is renowned for its historical records, which are preserved not only in written documents but also in the traditional “songs of Evereska.” These musical epics hold the memories of ancient elven families and their fateful histories.

Most notably, the family tree of the legendary Archmage Larellion (or Lorelion), the steward of the Hand of Sehahine (the Hand of Sehanine) and a key architect of the historic Pact of Phandelver, is preserved within these songs. Through these musical lineages, scholars can trace the tragic fates of Larellion’s daughters:

• Vyldara, whose jealousy of her sister led her to poison Queen Kima of Axeholm, sparking the ruin of the ancient tripartite alliance and her own transformation into a vengeful banshee.
• Agatha, the gentler “Moonlit Prodigy” who eventually became a sorrowful banshee haunting the ruins of Conyberry, singing of her lost home.

Because of Evereska’s dedication to preserving these memories, the tragedies of the Pact of Phandelver—which occurred over a millennium ago during the twilight of the Age of Arcanum—remain accessible to modern chroniclers and adventurers.

Scholars of the Arcane

The magical heritage of Evereska produces exceptional students of the arcane who travel the world to expand their understanding of the cosmos. Among these is Dmitri, a brilliant scholarship student from Evereska residing in the City of Neverwinter. Dmitri operates out of the Cloaktower, the city’s hub of magical learning and trade in the Arcanist District, where he manages the magic reagent and item storeroom. Obsessed with his research into magical reagents and interplanar mysteries, Dmitri represents the typical Evereskan drive to uncover the deep secrets of the multiverse.
